A verifiable reference that links a claim to the exact passage in a source and quotes it, so you can check any answer for yourself.
Definition
A citation links a statement in an answer to the exact place in a source — a document you uploaded, text you pasted, or a web page — that it came from, and it includes the quoted words themselves. For example, if an answer says your lease allows a pet, the citation shows the very sentence in the contract that says so, so you can confirm it rather than simply trusting the claim.
Why it matters
Citations turn 'trust me' into 'check for yourself.' In Facts mode AskClear verifies every quoted claim: the exact words must actually appear in your source, or the claim is flagged as unverified. So if you ask about a refund policy and the answer cites a real line from the document, you know it is grounded — and if nothing backs it up, you find out immediately instead of acting on a guess.
